Master stylist Michael Thomas is among the top hair stylists in Naples. He opened his North Naples salon, Michael Thomas Hair Design, in 1998 following a successful 15 year career in New York City and five years as a stylist in an east Naples salon.
In New York City, his extraordinary skills as a stylist and colorist earned him a devoted following from the showbiz celebrity circles of Central Park West to the Wall Street and artistic centers of downtown New York. He began his career in a single-chair salon on New York’s West Side, across the street from the legendary Dakota. He (and his clientele) then moved to Battery Park, “the place to be” in the eighties and early nineties, where he quickly became a top stylist at the hip Styles salon, where he met his wife and partner, Denise.
Another fortuitous meeting at Styles was with a Wall Street exec who offered her place in Naples to Michael and Denise for a getaway retreat. By the second day of their first visit they decided to move to the elegant tropical paradise. Within three months they were established at a Naples salon and began developing the local clientele they enjoy to this day.
After five years, the owner offered them to the opportunity to buy the salon. On the eve of the signing, with all the legal and financial elements in place, the owner had a change of a heart. This snag turned into serendipity, for simultaneously Michael and Denise learned about a new retail development at Pine Ridge and Airport Roads that needed an upscale salon. On April 15, 1998, Michael Thomas Hair Design opened at the now thriving Carillon Plaza.
Michael Thomas and his team of stylists offer a range of hair and waxing services for all budgets in a warm and welcoming ambiance. The boutique hair salon has a limited (and highly coveted) number of chairs where guests benefit from undivided attention. The team participates in several workshops and shows every year throughout the country to stay at the forefront of the latest innovations in styling and coloring, a major investment for the benefit of the salon's ever-growing clientele.
